ABOUT US

At W I L D E R Landscapes we design and install gardens with a mission to help you rediscover your connection with nature. To achieve this we have three key values that underpin all that we do.

1.

CREATE YOUR HAVEN

For many of us, our lives are so busy that we seldom have the opportunity to interact with the natural environment. Recent studies have shown that spending time in nature reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical well-being, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. When designed correctly your garden can become an extension of your home, creating a haven that enables this unique interaction with nature improving your all-round wellbeing.

2.

EMBRACE WILD LIFE

Since the industrial revolution almost half of Britain's wildlife has been lost, with farming and urban spread being the main causes. We believe that our gardens can play a critical role in reversing this loss given that private gardens comprise approximately 24% of London, but just 14% of this is green space. We understand the important ecological function that gardens hold and through careful design and plant selection create spaces that embrace wildlife. Creating spaces for biodiversity to thrive isn't just good for our wildlife, it also improves your sense of connection with nature and associated wellbeing benefits.

3.

LOW IMPACT

We appreciate the challenges that we collectively face from global warming and diminishing resources. Reducing our impact requires careful consideration which begins at the design phase. We select and use materials that are either recycled or have a low carbon intensity e.g. using reclaimed sleepers for planters or low carbon concrete. We also select native plant species that are accustomed to the given environment requiring low maintenance and watering. This has the added benefit of reintroducing local wildlife, enhancing the feeling of connection to the natural world.

I’m so delighted with the garden that Wilder has created for me. It makes me smile every time I look at it and my appreciation of this new space, my sanctuary, is only going to increase as the garden grows. Theo and Ethan’s passion, knowledge and eco-credentials shone through as they guided me through the whole process. They are professional and personable and great communicators. Their crew were hardworking and a pleasure to have around. I’m very happy to recommend Wilder Landscapes to you.
